First True 4K AI Camera for Team Sports Launching at CES 2026
Inventor's New AI Camera
Will Change Sports Forever
In September 2025, Dr. David Tan and his team at XbotGo launched a Kickstarter for a camera they believed would change sports. It was a 4K AI system that filmed the entire game on its own. One button starts it and the camera follows the action while tracking individual players. People loved the idea. In 45 days, more than 5,000 backers pledged $2.5 million to build it. At CES 2026, the XbotGo Falcon will make its world debut. It is the first true 4K AI camera made for team sports. Visit our booth and be among the first to experience the Falcon.
Introducing the XbotGo Falcon
Why the XbotGo Falcon Matters
If you have a child in sports, you already know the problem. Games move fast. Parents try to film and watch at the same time, but it is almost impossible to do both well. So you miss the big plays, the video comes out shaky, and on the days you can't make it to the game, you miss everything anyway. Most parents give up entirely and don't even bother filming.
As kids get older and more serious about sports, some club teams start using subscription-based tracking cameras. These systems cost several thousand dollars and include expensive yearly fees. Worst of all, parents are often asked to help pay for them, even though the families never own the camera. And most clubs don't even use these systems, leaving millions of players without any game footage.
The Falcon changes this completely. It gives each family their own AI sports camera at a price that makes sense.
There are no subscription fees, no shared club equipment, and no complicated setup. Parents finally get a tool built just for them.
Falcon lets families record every game in crisp 4K. They can review plays, support their child’s growth, share highlights with coaches, and build a video collection for tryouts, recruiting, and memories to treasure.
Falcon puts the power back in the hands of parents. It brings pro-level filming to the sidelines, and it makes sure every player is seen.
That's why the Falcon matters and why 5,000+ people pledged $2.5 million to make it happen.
XbotGo Falcon Features
1. Hands Free: Falcon films the entire game without anyone needing to hold a phone, chase the play, or hire a film crew. It auto-tracks the game, follows players, live streams, records, and captures every highlight on its own.
2. Easy Setup: Falcon sets up in seconds on any standard 1/4- inch mount. A simple preset button instantly launches your chosen recording mode, sport type, age group, pan speed, tilt range, and more.
3. Built for Every Sport: Falcon’s AI tracking is built for both team and individual sports. Falcon adapts its motion logic, game rules, and framing to every activity.
4. Follow the Player: Falcon can lock onto any athlete you choose using jersey number recognition and body detection. It works seamlessly even in crowded plays.
5. Smart Tracking and Auto Zoom: Falcon uses real-time motion and pose detection to track the action and keep your player perfectly framed throughout the play. Its auto zoom moves in for close moments and widens out when the action spreads to create smooth, cinematic footage.
6. One Tap Highlight Export: Falcon’s AI goes beyond recording. It understands the game. With one tap, it detects key actions and auto-generates highlight reels for instant sharing. No manual editing required.
7. Powered by the XbotGo App: The XbotGo App lets you record, monitor, review, edit, export, and live stream your games with no subscription required. Core tools like cloud uploads, highlight clips, and a built-in scoreboard come standard, and updates keep making Falcon better over time.
8. AI Game Analysis: Falcon doesn’t just record, it understands the game. Track player movement, heatmaps, and intensity to get smart insights for better coaching and strategy.
9. Zone Mapping: This feature allows users to manually define the active tracking area, helping the AI focus on in-field action.
10. Live View and Monitoring: Use any phone to monitor your game in real time. Track key moments, stats, and player performance as the action unfolds. With free live streaming built in, you can broadcast directly to YouTube, Facebook, XbotGo Live, or any RTMP platform with a single tap.
11. PiP View: Get the full field and the close-up, all at the same time. Falcon’s PiP mode lets you combine wide-angle coverage with focused tracking, while letting you switch views freely via your phone.
Our Story
XbotGo began with a simple idea from its founder, Dr. David Tan. While watching his child play, Dr. Tan saw parents trying to film games and missing the joy of the moment. The videos were shaky, the angles were wrong, and the experience was stressful. Professional tools were too expensive, and the technology that existed was too hard for families to use. He wanted something better, something smart and simple that could help real sports families capture memories without losing the moment itself.
The first product, the XbotGo Gimbal, launched in 2023. It helped parents steady their filming and was the company’s first step toward making sports recording easier for everyone.
In 2024, XbotGo introduced the XbotGo Chameleon, the direct predecessor to the Falcon. Chameleon is an AI-powered phone mount that turns any smartphone into a smart sports camera. It tracks the action automatically, follows players on its own, and gives families hands-free filming without needing special equipment. To bring Chameleon to life, XbotGo turned to Kickstarter and raised $329,612. This funding helped the team produce the device, refine its AI, and deliver it to families and teams around the world.
Chameleon took off. As more parents and coaches used it, XbotGo grew quickly. What started as a small idea became a
fast-growing sports-technology brand trusted across the globe. Today, XbotGo products are used in 100+ countries, from neighborhood fields to major training centers. More than 500 sports teams rely on XbotGo for hands-free filming and accurate AI tracking. The platform now serves over 200,000 active members, and together they have recorded more than 5,226,000 hours of sports across more than 20 different sports.
Building on this momentum, in September 2025 XbotGo launched the Falcon on Kickstarter. Falcon marked the company’s next big leap, a dedicated 4K AI sports camera. The response was amazing. The campaign raised $2,548,287 from 5,099 backers, giving XbotGo the resources to scale Falcon’s production for its official debut at CES 2026.
Today, XbotGo has become a globally recognized AI sports-technology brand. Families and teams around the world rely on its products to capture smarter, clearer, and more meaningful sports moments.
Even as it expands worldwide, XbotGo stays rooted in what sparked it in the first place, a parent who wanted a smarter way to film their child’s game. Today, that same spirit drives a global brand helping families capture every game with clarity and ease.
XbotGo was created by Dr. David Tan, a computer vision expert, hardware innovator, and devoted soccer dad.
Before founding the company, Dr. Tan spent more than ten years leading global research and development teams. He worked in senior roles at Amazon, Qualcomm, Bell Labs, and AT&T Labs. At Amazon, he led design and implementation of the first-generation Fire TV, Echo smart speakers, and robotics platforms. His work in these roles gave him deep experience in building hardware and software systems used by millions of people.
Dr. Tan’s technical expertise includes advanced consumer electronics, embedded systems, AI imaging, and connectivity technologies. He has been passionate about photography and imaging innovation for more than a decade, which influenced the camera and AI systems inside every XbotGo product.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering. His background in research, engineering, and product design helped shape XbotGo into a company built on smart ideas, strong technology, and a real desire to help families capture the moments that matter most.
